Membership Responsibilites - Jaipur Nooks

Attendance

Commitment:

  • General members are expected to attend at least one meeting per month.
  • Guests are welcome to attend a meeting, but they are not required to attend regularly.

Hospitality & Environment

Members’ Responsibility:

  • Respect the host’s home and adhere to agreed-upon timings for meetings.
  • Contribute refreshments or help in organizing if requested by the host.

Participation

Active Discussion:

  • Members should read at least 75% of the book and be prepared to discuss its themes, characters, and any insights they’ve gained.
  • Contributions should be thoughtful, respectful, and relevant to the discussion.
  • If a member cannot finish the book, they should still participate by sharing their thoughts on the parts they’ve read.

Book Selection


Rotating Book Selection: Each member, especially the host, can nominate books for future readings. The group can vote on the options, allowing for a variety of genres and themes.

Theme-Based Selections: Members can decide to focus on specific genres (e.g., mystery, historical fiction, fantasy) or topics (e.g., social justice, environmental issues) for a set period.

Social Events & Gatherings


Seasonal Gatherings:The group can meet for holiday parties, themed events, or casual meet-ups outside of regular discussions.

Book Share Events:Members can exchange books they’ve already read and are willing to part with.

Collaborative Activities: Members may participate in related activities like attending book fairs, visiting author readings, or volunteering in community literacy projects.
